Alcázar of Madînat al-Zahrâ, ca 970 | ideal reconstruction of the alcázar of Medina Azahara, "the bright city", the most extraordinary and prodigious construction of Islam according to the Andalusian geographer al-Zuhri, an ephemeral city that shone with the maximum splendor in just a century, reflecting the social and cultural flourishing of caliphate in al-Andalus result of the centralization of Umayyad power in the region. Made for the historical magazine DespertaFerro Arqueología nº 22, al-Ándalus Omeya.
